Select copra prices decline on weak demand, good supply

Prices of copra edible and copra Kozhikode declined at the spices market here today due to reduced offtake by stockists and exporters in the face of adequate stocks availability.

While, rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of necessary buying activity.

Copra edible Mumbai slumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 11,000 from overnight closing level of Rs 11,200 and copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 8,400 as compared to Rs 8,500 previously.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 635/725 (635/725), ginger bleached (per kg) 230 (230), ginger unbleached (per kg) 250 (250), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,600 (8,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,400 (8,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 11,000 (11,200).
