Select copra prices fall on reduced demand, ample supply

Rest all spices maintained a steady trend in the absence of necessary buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha and Copra office Kozhikode both declined by Rs 50 per quintal each to Rs 4,100 and Rs 4,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 4,150 and Rs 4,050, respectively.

Copra edible Mumbai also moved down by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 5,350 from Rs 5,400 last weekend.

The following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 435/460 (435/460), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,100 (4,150), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 4,000 (4,050), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,800 (6,800) and copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 5,350 (5,400).
