Select copra prices surge on heavy demand

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode maintained its uptrend at the spices market here today following rising demand from stockists and retailers amid sustained export offtake.

While, rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 9,200 and Rs 9,500 from Monday's closing level of Rs 9,400 and Rs 9,300.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 610/680 (610/680), ginger unbleached (per kg) 135 (135), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 9,600 (9,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,500 (9,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 11,200 (11,200), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 10,200 (10,200).
