Select copra rebounds on renewed milling demand

Both copra Alapuzha and Kozhikode rebounded at the spice market here today due to renewed demand from local millers amid tight supply from producing regions.

Meanwhile, rest all spices continued to exhibit stable trend owing to lack of buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 100 per quintal each to end at Rs 7,200 and Rs 7,100 as compared to Rs 7,100 and Rs 7,000 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 730/795 (730/795), ginger bleached (per kg) 210 (210), ginger unbleached (per kg) 230 (230), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 7,200 (7,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,100 (7,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,500 (8,500).
