Select copra recovers in listless trade

Copra office Kozhikode and copra office Alappuza recovered in an otherwise listless spices market here today on fresh demand from stockists and retailers amid good export offtake.

While, other spices market closed today on account of "Maratha's quota agitation".

Copra office Kozhikode and copra office alappuza gained by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,400 from Tuesday's close Rs 6,400 and Rs 6,300, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) closed (725/800), ginger bleached (per kg) closed (140), ginger unbleached (per kg) closed (160), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,500 (6,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,400 (6,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) closed (10,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) closed (7,900).
