Select copra recovers on renewed demand, black pepper gains

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode recovered at the spices market here today on renewed demand from stockists and exporters.

Elsewhere, black pepper gained on robust demand from exporters and upcountry advices.

Meanwhile, copra edible slipped on stockist selling following subdued retail demand.

Ginger bleached and unbleached fell on subdued stockist as well as exporters offtake.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 10,800 and Rs 10,700 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 10,600 and Rs 10,500.

Black pepper moved up by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 725/775 as against Rs 710/760 yesterday.
 

However, copra edible Mumbai declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 13,800 from Rs 14,000.

Ginger bleached and unbleached eased by Rs 20 per kg each to Rs 240 and Rs 260 as compared to Rs 260 and Rs 280.

Black pepper (per kg) 725/775 (710/760), ginger bleached (per kg) 240 (260), ginger unbleached (per kg) 260 (280), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 10,800 (10,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,700 (10,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 23,000 (23,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,800 (14,000).
