Select copra strengthen on sustained demand

Copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode strengthened in an otherwise listless spices market here today following sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid good export offtake.

While, other spices held stable in absence of any large- scale buying activity.

Copra office Alappuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 12,700 and Rs 12,500 from Wednesday's close Rs 12,600 and Rs 12,400, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 410/490 (410/490), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 12,700 (12,600), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 12,500 (12,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,000 (17,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,000 (14,000).
