Select copra surges on heavy demand

Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur prices rallied further at the spices market here today due to heavy offtake from stockists and retailers.

Meanwhile, copra edible slipped on selling by stockists amid reduced retail demand.

Rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any major buying activity.

Copra Office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode prices shot up Rs 3,000 per quintal each to Rs 18,000 and Rs 16,000 from last weekend's level of Rs 15,000 and 13,000.

Copra Rajapur climbed by Rs 1,500 per quintal to Rs 22,500 from Rs 21,000.

However, copra edible declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 13,800 as compared to Rs 14,000 previously.
