Select copra surges on renewed demand

Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur Mumbai prices recovered smartly at the spices market here on renewed demand from stockists and millers amidst good export offtake.

While, black pepper, ginger and copra edible ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai spurted by Rs 1,000 per quintal to Rs 21,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 20,000.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode climbed by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 9,000 and Rs 8,800 as against Rs 8,800 and Rs 8,600 last weekend.

Black pepper (per kg) 740/790 (740/790), ginger bleached (per kg) 250 (250), ginger unbleached (per kg) 270 (270), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,000 (8,800), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,800 (8,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 21,000 (20,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,500 (12,500).
