Select edible, non-edible oils rise on uptick in demand

Soyabean refined mill delivery and palmolein oils strengthened at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today largely on increased offtake by millers and retailers.

Palmolein oil also traded moderately higher on firm outside advices.

In the non-edible section, linseed oil found industrial demand and edged higher.

Marketmen said increased offtake by millers as well as retailers and encouraging outside advices, helped select edible oil prices to rise.

Among the edibles, soyabean refined mill delivery oil (Indore) and soyeban degum (Kandla) were up by Rs 20 each at Rs 6,640 and Rs 6,340 per quintal, respectively.

Palmolein (RBD) and palmolein (Kandla) inched higher by Rs 10 each to trade higher at Rs 5,580 and Rs 5,510 per quintal respectively.
 

In the non-edible segment, linseed oil rose by Rs 30 to Rs 8,590 per quintal supported by industrial demand. Castor oil also traded Rs 20 higher at Rs 9890-9990 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,050, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,690-1,740, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,930, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,335-1,385, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,385-1,485, Sesame Mill delivery Rs 7,900, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,640, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,340, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,230, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,900, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,580, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,510 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,050-2,100.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,590, Castor Rs 9,890-9,990, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
