Sesame mill delivery and coconut oil prices fell up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to slackened demand from millers and retailers.

In the non-edible section, castor oil showed somewhat weakness due to poor offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said sluggish demand from millers and retailers mainly kept pressure on select edible oil prices.

Besides, increased arrivals from growing regions weighed on prices, they said.

In the national capital, sesame mill delivery oil prices were down by Rs 50 to Rs 8,050 per quintal.

Coconut oil also traded lower at RS 2,300-2,325 per tin largely in in line with weak trend at upcountry markets.

Among non-edible oils, castor oil fell by Rs 50 to Rs 9,900-10,000 per quintal owing to reduced offtake by consuming industries.
