Select edible oils down on sluggish demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Select edible oil prices drifted up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today owing to slackened demand from retailers and vanaspati millers.

Linseed oil, in the non-edible section, also traded lower due to lack of demand from consuming industries.

Traders said muted demand from retailers and vanaspati millers led to the decline in select edible oil prices.

They said reduced offtake by paint industries helped linseed oil to trade lower.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) and mustard expeller (Dadri) oils were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 9,050 and Rs 8,750 per quintal, respectively.
