Select edible oils remain up on seasonal demand

Select edible oil prices moved up further by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today as demand picked-up supported by ongoing wedding season.

However, non-edible oils after moving in a narrow range in limited deals, settled around previous levels.

Traders said pick up in demand from retailers in the wake of wedding season mainly kept select edible oil prices higher.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (Dadri) and groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,300 and Rs 7,900 per quintal respectively.

Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils were also up by a similar margin to Rs 6,550 and Rs 6,250 per quintal respectively.
 

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 960-1,130.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,900, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,350-1,400, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,300, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,220- 1,270, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,270-1,370, sesame mill delivery 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,550, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,250, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 4,400, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 5,900, Palmolein (RBD) 5,750, Palmolein (Kandla) 5,550 and Coconut (per tin) 2,550-2,575.

Non-edible oils: Linseed 8,150, Castor 9,600-9,700, Neem 5,350-5,450.
