Select edible oils rise on pickup in demand

Prices of select edible oils edged higher at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today as demand from millers and vanaspati units picked up amid restricted supplies.

Linseed oil, in the non-edible segment, also showed some strength.

Marketmen said increased enquiries from millers as well as retailers driven by festive and wedding season, pushed up select edible oil prices.

Among the edibles, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil rose by Rs 30 to Rs 7,930 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils also followed suit and rose by Rs 10 each to Rs 1,335-1,385 and Rs 1,385-1,485 per tin, respectively.

Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (kandla) rose by Rs 20 each to Rs 6,620 and Rs 6,320 per quintal, respectively.
 

Linseed oil edged up by Rs 10 to Rs 8,560 per quintal on the back of industrial demand.

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 850-1,065.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,100, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,700-1,750, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,930, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,335-1,385, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,385-1,485, sesame mill delivery Rs 7,900, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,620, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,320, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,900, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,600, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,500 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,050-2,100.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,560, Castor Rs 9,850-9,950, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
