Prices of select edible oil firmed up on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market during the week under review on increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers to meet the ongoing wedding season demand.
Linseed oil in the non-edible section, also edged higher on fresh paint units enquiries.
Traders said increased buying by vanaspati millers and retailers to meet the ongoing marriage season demand against tight supplies from producing regions mainly supported the upside in select edible oil prices.

Meanwhile, country's vegetable oil imports fell by 6 per cent to 8.35 lakh tonnes in March due to a continuous fall in shipments of palm oil, industry body Solvent Extractors Association said.
In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) and mustard expeller (Dadri) oils ended higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,350 and Rs 7,050 per quintal respectively. Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oil also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,250 per quintal.
Soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils moved up by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,450 and Rs 7,250, respectively, while crude palm oil (ex-kandla) traded higher by similar margin at Rs 5,750 per quintal.
Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils saw a demand and gained Rs 50 each to Rs 6,750 and Rs 6,400 per quintal respectively.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil on the back of increased buying support from paint industries, ended higher by Rs 50 to Rs 7,450 per quintal.
