Select freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following easy position of trucks.

Transporters said huge position of trucks in the market against restricted cargo movements, led to decline in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Baroda, Mumbai, Patna and Surat freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 24,000 and Rs 23,000.

Rates to Ahmedabad, Puducherry, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram also fell by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 19,000, Rs 67,000, Rs 72,000 and Rs 81,000.
