Select freights up on less position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Guwahati rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following the shortage of trucks in the market amid increased cargo movements.

Transporters said besides good movements of cargo, less position of trucks, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.

Freight rates from Delhi to Hyderabad and Guwahati went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 58,000 and Rs 61,000.

Vijayawada freight rates also improved by Rs 1,000 to Rs 61,000.

Elsewhere, other centres freight rates managed to hold overnight levels on some support.
