Select gur prices end higher on scattered demand

Select gur prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today on mild demand from local parties and stockists against restricted arrivals from producing areas.

Traders said besides some demand from local parties and stockists, fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to rise in select varieties of gur prices.

At Delhi, gur chakku edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.

In Muzzafarnagar, gur khurpa also moved up by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,800-2,900, pedi Rs 2,900-3,000, dhayya Rs 3,000-3,100 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
 

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,450-2,550, khurpa Rs 2,400-2,450 and Ladoo Rs 2,500-2,550.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,500-2,550 and dhayya Rs 2,550-2,600.
