Select pulses led by moth surged by up to Rs 300 per quintal at wholesale market here today on increased buying by stockists following pick up in demand from dal mills and retailers against restricted supplies.
However, urad and arhar ended lower on lack of buying support.
Marketmen said increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand from dal mills and retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly kept moth and other pulses prices higher.
In the national capital, moth gained the most by rising Rs 300 to Rs 3,850-4,250 per quintal.
Gram, gramdal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,350-4,400, Rs 4,700-5,100 and Rs 5,100-5,200 per quintal respectively. Kabuli gram small variety shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 5,100-5,900 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,300 and Rs 4,050-4,350 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,800-5,200 and Rs 4,900-5,300 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality shot up by Rs 300 each to Rs 4,400-4,700 and Rs 4,500-4,800 per quintal respectively.
On the other hand, arhar and its dal dara variety fell by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,900 and Rs 5,400-7,300 per quintal respectively.
Urad also eased to Rs 4,000-5,200 against last close of Rs 4,100-5,500 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,900-5,000, Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5,450-5,650 per quintal respectively.
