Select pulses drop on sluggish demand

Prices of select pulses were down by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market today following subdued demand against adequate stocks position.

However, arhar and its dal prices firmed up on select buying by retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts.

Traders said subdued demand from retailers against sufficient stocks position kept pressure on select prices.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local shed Rs 50 each to Rs 6,400-7,100 and Rs 7,200-7,700 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 7,200-7,500 and Rs 8,000-8,100 per quintal.
 

Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,500-6,600 and Rs 6,500-6,700 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 7,550-7,650 and Rs 7,650-7,750 per quintal.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality also softened by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,400-5,050, Rs 4,700-4,900 and Rs 4,800-5,100 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, arhar and its dal dara variety shot up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,800-7900 and Rs 9,200-9,350 per quintal, respectively.

Urad Rs 7,600-8,000, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 8,400-8,600, urad best Rs 8,600-9,200, Dhoya Rs 9,000-9,300, Moong Rs 6,400-7,100, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 7,200-7,700, Moong Dhoya local Rs 7,200-7,500 and best quality Rs 8,000-8,100.

Masoor small Rs 6,500-6,600, bold Rs 6,500-6,700, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,550-7,650, best quality Rs 7,650-7,750, Malka local Rs 7,800-8,150, best Rs 7,900-8,200, Moth Rs 5,500-5,800, Arhar Rs 7,800-7,900, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,200-9,350.

Gram Rs 4,400-5,050, Gramdal (local) Rs 4,700-4,900, best quality Rs 4,800-5,100, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,080, Rajdhani Rs 2,080, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,600-5,700, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,200-6,400, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,775-2,800 and green Rs 2,775-2,875.
