Select pulses firms up on pickup in demand

Select pulses led by urad rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on increased demand against tight supplies from producing belts.

Traders said increased demand against limited arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in select pulses prices.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,850-8,250 and Rs 8,650-8,850 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya were enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 8,850-9,450 and Rs 9,250-9,550 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold were also seen in demand and hardened by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,700-6,800 and Rs 6,700-6,900 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 7,750-7,850 and Rs 7,850-7,950 per quintal.
 

Malka local and best quality also ended in positive zone with a rise of Rs 100 each to Rs 7,800-8,150 and Rs 7,900-8,200 per quintal.

In line with general firming trend, arhar and its dal dara variety added Rs 100 each to Rs 7,400-7,550 and Rs 8,800-9,000 per quintal, respectively.
