Select pulses remain down on muted demand

Select pulses led by arhar and moong drifted lower by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today on subdued demand from retailers.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on pick up in supplies from producing regions, mainly kept pressure on arhar, moong and other prices.

Lack of buying support from dal mills also weighed.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety fell by another Rs 100 each to Rs 4,100 and Rs 6,100-7,900 per quintal respectively.

Moong and its dal chilka local shed Rs 100 each to Rs 4,900-5,600 and Rs 5,600-5,800 per quntal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,200-6,700 and Rs 6,700-6,900 per quintal.
 

Masoor small and bold followed suit and declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,700-3,900 and Rs 3,750-3,950 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-4,400 and Rs 4,000-4,500 per quintal.

Rajmah chitra too finished lower by Rs 100 to Rs 7,700- 10,000 per quintal.
