Select pulses remain up on firm demand

Select pulses rose further by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today on rising demand from retailers.

However, arhar and its dal finished lower on lack of buying support.

Traders said besides rising demand from retailers, pause in supplies from producing regions mainly kept select pulses prices higher.

Some enquiries from dal mills also supported the upmove in select pulses, they said.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,700-6,800, Rs 6,800- 7,200 and Rs 7,200-7,300 per quintal, respectively. Kabuli gram small variety also traded higher by Rs 100 to Rs 9,600- 10,400 per quintal.
 

Urad too edged up to Rs 5,500-6,750 from previous level of Rs 5,400-6,750 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were enquired higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 5,800-5,900, Rs 5,900-6,400 and Rs 6,300-6,500 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, arhar and its dal dara variety declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,100 and Rs 6,000-7,800 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad Rs 5,500-6,750, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 5,800-5,900, Urad best Rs 5,900-6,400, Dhoya Rs 6,300-6,500, Moong Rs 4,800-5,000, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,300-5,500, Moong Dhoya local Rs 5,900-6,400 and best quality Rs 6,400-6,600.

Masoor small Rs 4,100-4,400, bold Rs 4,150-4,500, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,600-5,100, best quality Rs 4,700-5,200, Malka local Rs 4,800-5,000, best Rs 4,900-5,100, Moth Rs 3,250-3,650, Arhar Rs 4,100, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,000-7,800.

Gram Rs 5,700-6,800, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,800-7,200, best quality Rs 7,200-7,300, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,650, Rajdhani Rs 2,650, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,500-10,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,600-10,400, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,600-5,800, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
