Select pulses slide as supply improves,

Prices of select pulses led by arhar fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on ample stocks as supplies improved amid slowdown in buying at prevailing levels.

Marketmen said apart from easing demand from retailers existing levels, pick up in supplies weighed on select pulses prices.

Meanwhile, expressing concern over rise in prices of pulses, traders' body Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT)yesterday said the government should impose stock limit on first importers and allow only domestic process houses to import foodgrain and pulses.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,900 and Rs 11,800-13,500 per quintal respectively.
 

Urad and its dal chilka local fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 10,600-12,700 and Rs 11,200-11,400 per quintal respectively.Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 11,300-11,900 and Rs 11,700-12,100 per quintal respectively.

Moong and its dal chilka local also shed Rs 100 each at Rs 6,900-7,600 and Rs 7,400-7,800 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 7,800-8,300 and Rs 8,300-8,500 per quintal respectively. Moth too ended lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5,600-6,000 per quintal.

Masoor small Rs 5,800-6,100, bold Rs 5,850-6,100, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,400-6,900, best quality Rs 6,500-7,000, Malka local Rs 7,100-7,400, best Rs 7,200-7,500, Moth Rs 5,600-6,000, Arhar Rs 8,900, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,800-13,500.

Gram Rs 5,250-5,650, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,400-5,700, best quality Rs 5,820-5,930, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,420, Rajdhani Rs 2,420, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,500-6,800, Kabuli Gram small Rs 6,800-8,500, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,100-5,300, Peas white Rs 3,200-3,225 and green Rs 3,400-3,500.
