Select pulses slide on mute demand

Amid easing demand from retailers at prevailing levels and sufficient stocks position, select pulses led by moong and arhar traded lower by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market.

Marketmen said fall in demand from retailers at existing higher levels against adequate stocks position mainly led to the fall in moong, arhar and other pulses prices.

Meanwhile, the government yesterday said it is keeping a close watch on the prices of pulses which are "more or less stable" in the Rs 83-177/kg range for the last one month in retail markets across the country.

In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,300-7,850 and Rs 7,700-8,100 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 8,100-8,600 and Rs 8,600-8,800 per quintal.
 

Masoor small and bold declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,800-6,200 and Rs 5,950-6,250 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,650-7,150 and Rs 6,750-7,250 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality also weakened by Rs 100 each Rs 7,100-7,400 and Rs 7,200-7,500 per quintal.

Arhar and its dal dara variety too shed Rs 100 each at Rs 9,500 and Rs 12,400-14,100, while rajmah chitra softened by Rs 50 to Rs 5,500-6,800 per quintal respectively. Kabuli gram small variety lost Rs 100 at Rs 6,800-8,600 per quintal.

Masoor small Rs 5,800-6200, bold Rs 5,950-6,250, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,650-7,150, best quality Rs 6,750-7,250, Malka local Rs 7,100-7,400, best Rs 7,200-7,500, Moth Rs 5,700-6,100, Arhar Rs 9,500, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 12,400-14,100.

Gram Rs 5,300-5,850, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,620-5,920, best quality Rs 6,040-6,150, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,420,Rajdhani Rs 2,420, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,500-6,800, Kabuli Gram small Rs 6,800-8,600, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,100-5,300, Peas white Rs 3,200-3,225 and green Rs 3,400-3,500.
