Select pulses slide on muted demand

Prices of select pulses drifted by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market owing to slackened demand from retailers against adequate stocks.

Marketmen said sluggish demand from retailers at prevailing levels against sufficient stocks on higher supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on select pulses.

In the national capital, arhar traded lower by Rs 100 at Rs 7,900 per quintal, while its dal dara variety eased to Rs 10,800-12,500 against last close of Rs 10,800-12,800 per quintal respectively.

Urad slipped to Rs 8,800-11,100 from previous close of Rs 8,800-11,500 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, best quality and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 9,600-9,800, Rs 9,700-10,300 and Rs 10,100-10,500 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 4,750-5,000, bold Rs 4,800-5,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,500-6,000, best quality Rs 5,600-6,100, Malka local Rs 5,700-6,200, best Rs 5,800-6,200, Moth Rs 5,300-5,700, Arhar Rs 7,900, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 10,800-12,500.

Gram Rs 4,700-5,100, Gram dal (local) Rs 4,900-5,200, best quality Rs 5,200-5,400, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,100, Rajdhani Rs 2,100, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,900-6,200, Kabuli Gram small Rs 5,000-7,000, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,000-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,925-2,950 and green Rs 3,225-3,325.
