Select pulses up on rising demand

Firm conditions prevailed at the wholesale market in the national capital today with prices of moong and other pulses moving up to Rs 200 per quintal on the back of rising demand amidst restricted arrivals from producing belts.

Traders said besides increased demand from retailers, low arrivals from producing regions mainly pushed up select pulses.

In Delhi, moong edged up to Rs 5,800-6,800 from previous level of Rs 5,800-6,600 per quintal. Its dal chilka local, dhoya local and best quality went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,700-7,200, Rs 6,700-7,000 and Rs 7,500-7,600 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small and bold followed suit and gained Rs 50 each to Rs 5,600-5,750 and Rs 5,600-5,800 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 6,600-6,700 and Rs 6,700-6,800 per quintal, respectively.
 

Malka local and best quality advanced by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,700-7,000 and Rs 6,900-7,000 per quintal, respectively. Moth too moved up by Rs 200 to Rs 4,800-5,100 per quintal.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad 4,200-5,900, Urad Chilka (local) 6,300-6,500, best 6,500-7,100, Dhoya 6,900-7,300, Moong 5,800-6,800, Dal Moong Chilka local 6,700-7,200, Moong Dhoya local 6,700-7,000 and best quality 7,500-7,600.

Masoor small 5,600-5,750, bold 5,600-5,800, Dal Masoor local 6,600-6,700, best quality 6,700-6,800, Malka local 6,700-7,000, best 6,900-7,000, Moth 4,800-5,100, Arhar 4,750- 4,950, Dal Arhar Dara 6,050-6,300.

Gram 2,825-3,725, Gram Dal (local) 3,500-3,700, best quality 3,600-3,900, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,400, Rajdhani 1,400, Rajmah Chitra 4,000-7,400, Kabli Gram small 3,500-6,300, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,800-5,200, Peas white 2,800-2,850 and green 2,900-3,000.
