Select spices drop on subdued demand

Select copra, pepper and ginger dropped at the spices market here today due to subdued demand from stockist and retailer amidst ample supply positions.

While, rest of the spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Copra Rajapur dipped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 9,800 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 10,000.

Copra edible declined by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 9,650 from Rs 9,700.

Black pepper moved down to Rs 516 per kg to Rs 545-595 as against Rs 555-611 and ginger bleached also went down by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 220 from Rs 225.

Black pepper (per kg) 545/595 (555/611), ginger bleached (per kg) 210 (210), ginger unbleached (per kg) 220 (225), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,100 (8,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,800 (10,000), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,650 (9,700).
