Select spices end mixed, copra edible slips

Black pepper prices recovered smartly in an otherwise lacklustre spices market here today due to sustained buying from stockists and exporters though availability continued to remain tight.

Both the ginger varieties eased further on the back of subdued retail offtake.

Copra edible prices slipped due to reduced offtake from stockist and retailers.

Rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any large-scale buying activity.

Black pepper climbed by Rs 15/15 per kilo to Rs 740/790 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 725/775.

However, ginger bleached and unbleached both fell by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 320 and Rs 335 from Rs 325 and Rs 340.
 

Copra edible declined by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 13,000 as compared to Rs 13,200 previously.

Black pepper (per kg) 740/790 (725/775), ginger bleached (per kg) 320 (325), ginger unbleached (per kg) 335 (340), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 10,300 (10,300), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,200 (10,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,500 (17,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,000 (13,200).
