Select spices falls on lower demand, fresh arrivals

Barring ginger rest all other spices fell at the spices market here today following sustained stockists selling.

Black pepper, copra office alapuza and copra office kozhikode declined on fresh arrivals from producing regions as well as lower offtake from exporters.

Copra rajapur and copra edible mumbai slumped on poor demand from stockists and retailers amidst good supply.

Meanwhile, ginger bleached and ginger unbleached both gained on good demand from retailers and exporters.

Copra rajapur mumbai dipped by Rs 900 per quintal to Rs 16,500 from Tuesday's closing level to Rs 17,400 and copra edible mumbai dropped by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 12,000 as against to Rs 12,400 previously.
 

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office kozhikode both slid by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 9,600 and Rs 9,500 from previous closing level of Rs 9,700 and Rs 9,600 respectively.

Black pepper prices slipped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 660/730 from overnight closing level to Rs 680/750.

However, Ginger bleached and ginger unbleached rose by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 190 and Rs 210 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 180 and Rs 200 respectively.
