Select spices slide on reduced offtake, good supply

Copra Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode dropped sharply at the spices market here today due to lack of buying from stockists amid reduced offtake by millers.

Elsewhere black pepper and ginger also declined on poor export enquiries supported by adequate supplies.

However, copra Rajapur and copra edible maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying support.

Copra office Alapuzha slumped by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 11,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 11,500 and copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 10,500 as against Rs 10,900.

Black pepper declined by Rs 10/15 per kilo to Rs 765/810 from Rs 775/825 previously.
 

Ginger bleached and unbleched both lost by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 340 and Rs 360 respectively, as compared with Rs 345 and Rs 365 last weekend.

Black pepper (per kg) 765/810 (775/825), ginger bleached (per kg) 340 (345), ginger unbleached (per kg) 360 (365), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,000 (11,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,500 (10,900), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 18,500 (18,500), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,700 (13,700).
