Select sugar mill gate prices up on better offtake

Sugar mill gate prices edged higher by Rs 5 to Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following increased offtake by stockists and bulk consumers amid tight supplies.

Marketmen said better offtake by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers and tight supplies from mills, pushed up sweetener prices.

In the millgate section, sugar Budhana and Thanabhavan prices rose by Rs 15 each to end at Rs 3,605 and Rs 3,600, while Dhanora and Dhampur gained by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,625 and Rs 3,560 per quintal.

Prices of Khatuli and Anupshaher also edged up by Rs 5 each to Rs 3,625 and Rs 3,525 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 40.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,830-3,920, S-30 Rs 3,820-3,910.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,520-3,640, S-30 Rs 3,510-3,630.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,640, Asmoli Rs 3,620, Dorala Rs 3,600, Budhana Rs 3,605, Thanabhavan Rs 3,600, Dhanora Rs 3,625, Simbholi Rs 3,620, Khatuli Rs 3,625, Dhampur Rs 3,560, Ramala Rs 3,540, Anupshaher Rs 3,525, Baghpat Rs 3,545, Morna Rs 3,540, Sakoti Rs 3,570, Chandpur Rs 3,570, Nazibabad Rs 3,525, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,580 and Nanota 3,540.
