Select sugar prices fall on selling pressure

Prices of select sugar eased by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following ample supply amid reduced offtake.

Marketmen said fall in demand due to end of festive season against increased supplies by mills mainly led to the decline in prices of select sugar mills.

In millgate section, Sugar Dorala, Mawana and Budhana prices moved down by Rs 5 each to Rs 3,040, Rs 3,050 and Rs 3,020 per quintal, respectively.

Prices of Khatauli, Sakoti and Chandpur also looked down by Rs 10 each at Rs 3,085, Rs 2,940 and Rs 2,945 per quintal, respectively.
 

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal)

Sugar retail markets - Rs 32.00-35.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,070-3,280 S-30 Rs 3,060-3,270.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,880-3,130 S-30 Rs 2,870-3,110.

Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,050, Kinnoni Rs 3,130 Asmoli Rs 3,115 Dorala Rs 3,040 Budhana Rs 3,020 Thanabhavan Rs 3,015 Dhanora Rs 2,995 Simbholi Rs 3,115 Modi Nagar Rs 2,970, Khatuli Rs 3,085 Dhampur (gila) Rs 2,860 Ramala Rs 2,900 Bulandshahr Rs 2,990 Anupshahr Rs 2,880 Baghpat Rs 2,920 Morna Rs 2,910 Sakoti Rs 2,940 Chandpur Rs 2,945 and Nazibabad Rs 2,900.
