The new President of Tamil Nadu unit of BJP would be appointed in a week or 10 days, senior party leader L Ganesan said on Saturday.
The BJP's TN unit, with a strength of about 35 lakh, was functioning headless since Tamilisai Soundararajan quit the post in September 2019, after being appointed as the Telangana governor.
Talking to reporters here, Ganesan said the President of the party's state unit would be selected in a week or 10 days.
".. Most likely it may happen in a week or 10 days.." he said.
Recently, reports emerged that the top post was filled and the name of the candidate would be announced by party leader and Uttar Pradesh Minister Sidharthnath Singh during his visit to the State on January 17.
Those who were heading the post of Tamil Nadu unit in the past include former Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan, La Ganesan, KN Lakshmanan, C P Radhakrishnan among others.
