The Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri today ordered suspension of the recruitment process of 33 Female Multipurpose Health Workers in the district after an enquiry panel found irregularities in the procedure, an official spokesperson said.

Chairman of the District Health Society and Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has suspended the recruitment process, he said.

The spokesperson said the process will be carried out afresh and those who had applied earlier will be eligible to appear for the exam.

The Health department has been directed to complete the recruitment process within one month, he said.

The six-member inquiry committee, headed by the additional deputy commissioner, has found that records of the recruitment process has been tampered with in National Health Mission (NHM) section by inserting new answer-sheets and other serious irregularities, the spokesperson said.

The panel has also asked the police to register cases against erring officials, he said.

The recruitment process carried out in January came under scanner after some NHM officials circulated a fake list of selectees, the spokesperson said.

The NHM staff associated with the recruitment process have been barred from dealing with any recruitment and selection process, and administrative works, he said.
