To promote ease of doing business, Haryana power distribution companies have implemented self certification of electrical installations up to 33 Kv voltage level.

The move will help speed up the process of taking electricity connection while setting up a business unit, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Managing Director Nitin Yadav said on Sunday.

Yadav said the owners of electrical installation up to 33 Kv voltage level would now get their installations tested and inspected by the authorised chartered electrical safety engineers for ensuring observance of safety measures in their installations and issue self certification report.

Earlier, installations of more than 11 Kv voltage were inspected by the office of chief electrical inspector for ensuring electrical safety.
