Addressing the gathering at the meeting close to Ambala City, Selja said she had recieved information that some of the officials of Ambala administration had pressurised some Sarpanches from not taking part in her meeting.

She asked SDM Mukesh Ahuja present there to enquire into the matter.

Selja warned that she would take a serious view of any information she collects from the party workers in this regard about the involvement of any officer.

The Union Minister said that it was a very serious matter that in Haryana where Congress is in power she had to face a situation where some people were prevented from attending her meeting.

She asked those party workers not to be afraid of any officer and work for strengthening the party.

Selja, a known detractor of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said that Congress is the party of common man led by Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi.

She said that Congress had always fought for the interest of the poor and common man and it was because of this that the party has made its solid base among the masses.

Criticizing the opposition parties, she said the BJP was struggling with its internal infighting while the regional parties did not have any national outlook.

Later she also addressed workers meetings at village Balana, Chapra and Ambala City.
