Seminar to analyse geopolitical issues concerning national

Issues of significance from the perspectives of bilateral collaboration in addressing geopolitical challenges in the neighbourhood and unconventional operations, were among the topics highlighted at a seminar held today at the Air Force Station near here.

Topics like nuclear warfare and the need for rebalancing the strategic outlook were dwelt upon in detail, at the one-day seminar 'Changing Geopolitical Relationships: Challenges for Indian Air Force.'

The aim of the seminar was to analyse various geopolitical issues concerning National security, conducted by the Centre for Air Power Studies and was inaugurated and chaired by its Additional Director General, Air Marshal K K Nohwar (retd), an official release said.
 

A series of lectures were delivered by leading research fellows of CAPS.

Group Captain SM Bawale from Head Quarters Maritime Air Operations and Group Captain KR Chandra from HQ Southern Air Command (SAC) also delivered talks on relevant issues, it said.

Senior officers of HQ SAC, including Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria attended the seminar.

CAPS promotes policy related researches, studies and discussions on problems of national security and defence in the evolving strategic and international security environment.

Since its formation in 2002, deliberations of CAPS have helped the defence services develop practical solutions to many security challenges, the release said.
