Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra minister Chandrakant Patil today took potshots at Shiv Sena saying the party has made a fool of itself by taking to streets against the state government, although it is sharing power in the Devendra Fadnavis-led dispensation.

Although the Sena has time and again threatened to pull out of the government in the past, Patil said the party would not quit.

On Saturday, Shiv Sena had held protests in parts of the city against inflation and the rising prices of petrol and diesel. On Moday, the party had also taken out a march in neighbouring Thane over these issues.

Speaking to reporters in Kolhapur today, the Revenue and PWD Minister said, "Shiv Sena has made a fool of itself by getting down on the street to agitate against the government. It cannot leave the government."

"The party has a bad habit of making its differences with the allies open in public. The party is sharing power, but trying to play the role of opposition. This is damaging the party itself largely," he said.
