To ensure proper monitoring of its policy and project implementation, the Delhi government has asked heads of all departments to send a report of their weekly field visit to the administrative reforms department.

According to an official, all principal secretaries and secretaries have been asked to submit the reports every Friday.

With an aim at improving governance, the government had last year directed the heads of all departments involved in public dealings to spend at least half-a-day every week in field offices under their jurisdiction to monitor implementation of policies and projects and submit their report on a weekly basis.

"However, it was noticed that some departments are sending field visit report signed by subordinate staff and not by the secretaries or HoDs concerned," the official said.

"Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash has desired that secretaries concerned should send the report to the administrative reforms department," the official added.

Last year, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had asked his Cabinet colleagues and all officers to meet the people without prior appointments from 10 am to 11 am in their offices from Monday to Friday.
