Ashish Singh and his brother Avnish were attacked by six members a family with choppers at their residence at Sakinaka in suburban Andheri last night, police said.

The Singhs and their neighbour, one Rakesh Sharma, were involved in a fight over parking of vehicles 10 days ago. Rakesh and his two relatives were arrested on Monday in connection with the incident and granted bail yesterday.

Enraged over the arrest, Rakesh and his five other family members, including a woman, barged into the residence of the Singhs and attacked them with sharp weapons. The duo succumbed to injuries suffered in the attack, they said.

Rakesh and the woman member have been arrested.

In another incident, a 60-year-old mobile shop owner, Maniklal Jain, was found murdered in his shop in suburban Kandivali, police said.

About 85 mobile phones, collectively valued at around Rs 1.25 lakh, were missing from the outlet, they said.

Jain's body had no external injury marks, police said adding, "however, blood was oozing out of his mouth and hence, we suspect that he was smothered to death."
