TDP today got a shot in the arm in Coastal Andhra region as former minister and senior Congress leader Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao joined the Chandrababu Naidu-led party.

Finding fault with the Congress leadership over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, he expressed confidence that the residuary state would develop in all spheres under the leadership of Naidu.

Several former ministers and a number of Congress MLAs in Seemandhra have joined TDP in protest against the "unilateral" division of Andhra Pradesh after the passage of Telangana Bill in Parliament.

Meanwhile, sources said the TDP Politburo would meet here tomorrow to discuss about the ongoing talks with BJP for a pre-poll electoral alliance, which has been pending for several days due to disagreement on seat sharing.
