Senior leaders of CPI(M), including Prakash Karat, Sitaram Yechury, Manik Sarkar, Brinda Karat, K Varadarajan, A K Padmanaban and Sudha Sundarraman would tour across Tamil Nadu between April 12 and 21 for campaigning for Left parties ahead of the April 24 Lok Sabha polls.
While CPI (M) General Secretary Karat would address meetings at Chennai North and Goomidipoodi on April 12, Dindugal and Palani on April 13 and Coimbatore and Tiruppur on April 14, Yechury would address meetings at Virudhunagar and Madurai on April 19, Nagercoil on April 20 and in Villupuram on April 21, a CPI (M) release said.
Party's Polit Buro member and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would address meetings at Thanjavur on April 14 and at Tiruchirapalli on April 15, it said, while another Polit Buerau member Brinda Karat would talk at meetings in Tiruchirapalli and Pudukottai on April 14 and at Mannarkudi on April 15.

Another Polit Bureau member A K Padmanabhan would address the public in Chennai North, Kanyakumari and Chennai, party's central committee member Sudha Sundarraman would address meetings at Puducherry, Nagercoil, Thanjavur and Chennai North the release said.
After walking out of the AIADMK alliance, the CPI(M) and CPI decided to contest in nine seats each in Tamil Nadu and to consider supporting individuals of parties other than the AIADMK, BJP, Congress and DMK alliances.
While the CPI (M) would be contesting from Coimbatore, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Chennai North, Dindigul, Trichy, Virudhunagar, Villupuram and Thanjavur, the CPI would field its candidates from Tenkasi, Nagapattinam, Puducherry, Tiruppur, Sivaganga, Dharmapuri, Cuddalore, Tiruvallur and Tuticorin.
