A senior police official in Uttar Pradesh was today caught on camera squatting on floor in front of state Agriculture Minister Anand Singh during a function, prompting the government to seek a clarification from the officer.
Special Secretary (Home) Arun Kumar Singh told reporters here that Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Gupta has sought clarification from Banda Superintendent of Police Udai Shanker Jaiswal.
Necessary action will be taken once the reply is received, said Singh.
Reports said that the minister attended inauguration ceremony of Awadhoot Swami Baba at Simauni village in Baberu area of Banda district today.
While chairs were available, the police officer chose to sit on floor in front of Anand Singh, who belongs to a royal family.
