Senior journalist dead

Former Indian Information Service officer and senior journalist K Selvaraju died at a hospital here today following illness.

He was 72 and is survived by a son, a PIB release said.

Having spent a large part of his career in New Delhi, Selvaraju had held various posts including Chief News Editor, Doordarshan between 1987 and 1994 besides working for national broadcaster, All India Radio.

He had worked in different TV news channels post retirement and was the Head of News in a Tamil private channel at the time of his death, the release added.
