Senior journalist Tomar new HPPSC chairman

The editor of the Jaipur edition of the Hindustan Times, K S Tomar, has been appointed chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC).

He would replace Maj Gen C M Sharma (rtd) whose term expired early this week, an official spokesman said here.

Tomar has been in the field of journalism for the past 35 years.

Before his posting as editor of the Jaipur edition, he was Hindustan Times correspondent in Kathmandu.

The term of the Public Service Commission chairman is six years subject to the age limit of 62 years.
