Senior level Pakistani delegations visiting Sri Lanka

The first delegation is headed by the Parliamentary Secretary and Member of Parliament Ms Robina Saadat Qaimkhani.

They are representing Pakistan at the South Asia Follow up Regional Consultation on the UN Study on Violence against children.

The event is being jointly organized by the Government of Sri Lanka and the Secretariat of the South Asia Initiative to end violence against children (SAIEVAC).

Representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are participating in this event with the aim to overcome violence against children in homes, schools and society.

Another three member delegation headed by the Chairman Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) of Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi arrived yesterday on a 3-day visit.

 

Jan Afridi will be representing Pakistan at WIPO Regional Forum on Intellectual Property (IP) and Environmentally Sound Technologies (ESTs).

The Chairman of IPO would also be attending the SAARC Roundtable on Sub-Regional Cooperation on Use of IP for Development and Acquisition of ESTs.

The forums would provide opportunity to discuss possible international cooperation to expand access to ESTs, IP for generation of, and access to, environmentally sound technologies, enhance Sub Regional Cooperation in the field of IP to develop and acquire ESTs.

The event has been organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in cooperation with National Intellectual Property Office Sri Lanka (NIPOS) and Japan Patent Office (IPO).

In addition to Pakistan, delegates from Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Iran, Indonesia, Maldives, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam are also participating in the deliberations.
