Senior Maoist leader 'plans' to surrender

A senior Maoist leader operating in Maharashtra and carrying a reward of Rs 20 lakh on his head is "planning" to surrender before police, a top-intelligence official said.

G Ashok alias Janardhan, who hails from Warangal district of Telangana, is a state committee member and is working in Maharashtra, the official told PTI.

"He has been part of the red-movement for the past 25 years..He has not yet surrendered so far...He might surrender...We have information that he is planning to surrender," the official said.
