Senior Maoist ultra arrested

A senior Maoist leader was today arrested when he was going back to jungles after getting treatment of his leg in Lohardaga district.

Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan said A team was set up after getting information that sub-zonal commander of CPI(Maoist) Yogendra Mishra came for treatment of his injured leg.

He was arrested this morning in the jungles under Kisko police station of the district, he added.

A sub-zonal commander, Mishra has been active with the banned outfit for over a decade and is senior to some of the politburo members of the organisation, Ratan said.

In the stepped up anti-naxal operations, five naxalites had been killed and a couple of dreaded rebels were arrested over the week in Jharkhand.
