Senior MQM leader quits

A senior leader of the

Mutthaida-e-Qaumi Movement today announced her decision to join the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).

Gabol, who has been affiliated with the MQM since the last seven years and was also elected to the Sindh assembly, said she had decided to quit the party because of differences with the leadership.

Nadia was Sindh Minister for human rights in the last government.

Announcing her decision at a press conference flanked by the minister for Local Government Owais Muzzafar, she said she felt the PPP was best placed to serve the people of the province.

Nadia is the daughter of Sardar Abdul Latif Gabol and niece of Nabil Gabol who joined the MQM after parting ways with the PPP before the last elections.
